Long Island Sound is an important part of the balance of nature in Connecticut. Many animals and plants live in and around Long Island Sound. It is important for us to learn about it in order ensure that we can continue to enjoy the Sound and all it has to offer. You will research a topic of your choice and use images and words to share information about the Sound with others. In class, you will also be visiting Sherwood Island, a Long Island Sound beach in Westport, CT. Think about what you saw and experienced on your field trip while you complete your research. What connections can you make between what you learn and what you saw?
Research Steps 1. Choose one of the topics listed within the TASK page online. * RES, Library/Computer Lab, Projects, Ocean Research 2. Come up with three questions you want to answer about your topic. * Remember, these are RESEARCH questions. If you want, you can use the three questions already written under each topic. 3. Take notes using books, the websites provided, and online Encyclopedias. 4. Remember to write down every website and book you use.
